Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. Publisher - Head of Zeus, London, 2014. With a new introduction by Robin Hanbury-Tenison. Originally published 1933. In 1925 Swiss born, Argentine professor, writer, and adventurer Aime Tschiffely (1895-1954), set off to ride, on his two criollo horses Mancha and Gato, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to New York City. The legendary 10,000 mile journey took him through mountains, jungles and swamps where he encountered rope bridges, vampire bats, sand storms, quicksand and hostile natives. After two harrowing years he was accorded a ticker tape parade when he rode triumphantly through the streets of New York. A scarce book.
