Stains and small tears inside, mainly first and last pages. Front endpaper has clippings attached. Ink mark on text block edge. Ink stamps on front endpapers and title page (Dr. A. H. Millar). Lectures delivered at King's College, London.

Brown calf with black leather title label to spine (edges rubbed and bumped). Endpapers soiled and previous owner's details. Modern bookplate to front free-endpaper: "Ex Libris Jennifer Diana Burton". Clear English text on lightly toned and soiled paper. Pencil notes and marks to the margins. Two leaves of catalogue with 20% loss, otherwise all complete. VG.
