Vivier, Max (illustrator). Octavo. 31pp. The twenty-seven pages of text are joined by twenty-seven reproduced drawings by Vivier, who illustrates scenes from President Lincoln's life in his characteristic silhouette style. Both the images and the text evoke Lincoln the legend as much as Lincoln the man. Bound in red cloth over boards, with pictorial paper to upper cover. The original, uncommon dust wrapper bears the same design, which seats a silhouette portrait of Lincoln against a red-white-and-blue striped curtain backdrop. Minor general edgewear to wrapper, including expected toning, and solitary mild bump to upper corner of upper board. Near fine. Laid in are two sheets from Stokes' catalogue of publications for 1932.
