Curioso e interesante panfleto castellanista, que sobre todo ataca la ocupación francesa permitida por las autoridades catalanas y enfrentadas al ejercito (este si ocupante) felipista; Catalunya sufrió un auténtico martirio por ambas partes, y al final con el último sacrificio (Tratado de los Pirineos, 1659), se volvieron las aguas a sus cauces. Este predicador explica sus razones y lo ocurrido sobre la cesión de los ornamentos litúrgicos a las tropas francesas a cambio de trigo, durante el asedio que sufría Barcelona y algunas otras ciudades de la costa. No es obra corriente en el mercado del libro antiguo, Palau anota en su entrada: "El autor fue considerado castellanista en el periodo de la guerra de Cataluña. Se llamaría Pexo, pero hubo de añadir la n para ser consecuente". 8 hojas, 86 páginas. Portada con viñeta en madera de la orden de predicadores, y escudo de santa Catalina a ambos lados de la base inferior. Un grabado a plena página de san Ramón de Penyafort con orla grabada en madera. El Discurso constituye el parecer o respuesta de Pío Vives, fraile del convento de Santa Catalina de Barcelona, a una consulta hecha a 22 teólogos (Barcelona, 24 de julio de 1652) sobre la petición del capitán general el mariscal La Mothe para que la iglesia catalana contribuyera al mantenimiento de las tropas.
