Lux Feininger, the youngest son of Julia and Lionel Feininger, studied at the Bauhaus under Albers, Kandinsky, Klee, Moholy-Nagy and Schlemmer. He was a practicing photographer and took up painting in the late 1920s. He had one man shows at the Nierdorf and Julien Levy Galleries in the 1930s and 1940s before beginning a teaching career, first at Sarah Lawrence and then at Harvard and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. Postcard. Condition: Very Good. Unmarked, undated card advertising Julio González (1876?1942). One image, with text on the back of this card, which measures 4x8.5 inches (10.16x21.59 cm). González was a Spanish sculptor and painter who developed the expressive use of iron as a medium for modern sculpture. This card depicts his Femme a la longue chevelure, 1940, Pen and ink and wash on paper. Unlike many of González's pen and ink drawings which appear as detailed studies, Femme a la longue chevelure is a finished work in pen, ink, and wash that places the female subject within a setting.
