Edgeworth was a prolific Anglo-Irish writer, and was one of Britain's most widely read novelists during the first decade of the nineteenth century. This novel retells the tale of Griselda, a figure of European folklore noted for her patience and obedience. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Rubbed to the boards and the joints, which are starting to crack near the head of the spine. There has been a little loss of calf to the head of the spine., and the spine label is missing. The front and rear hinges are starting, but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered foxing. Good. book.
