Book First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP). Here's a very special item. One-of-a-kind. Could not find another copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. Published nearly 107 years ago. With 9 tipped-in photographs (in perfect condition) of the cast performing the play. Also a frontispiece drawing of, I guess, The Jew of Malta, by Edith Shearn Oland. And 2 more tipped-in photographs, amusingly, as part of ads in the eleven page Advertisements section following the play. This soft cover book has held up quite well. Most importantly, it is solidly bound, no loose pages, no webbing or cracks. And the pages are in very good condition. There isn't any extraneous writing or underlining, not on any page. There are no markings. And, quite remarkably, possibly no soiling. I didn't see any. The shape on the title page is the reverse image of the frontispiece image. The amount of wear on the pages can be described as minor or minimal. A light crease here and there, a very few tiny edge tears. The greatest wear, as you can see in the first three photographs, has occurred on the covers. A narrow piece of the front has come off. I have it and it will be enclosed within the book. There's also a tiny piece of loss at the bottom of the spine. And, again, a loss at the top corner of the rear cover. That piece is missing. Were it not for these losses this old book would be rated Near Fine. Take a look at the photographs.
