Stapled wraps. Condition: Fair. Wraps have a tear along bottom section of spine (2 1/2 inches) , some light creasing and very light stains, general rubbing along spine, last two pages have a small fold/chip to edge of pp. , some light interior smudging and staining from use; Stapled gray wraps with photograph of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Athol, MA on cover, advertising on rear. Each recipe is accompanied by the name of the donator. This small pamphlet is an excellent example of how women coped with shortages which affected the kitchen during the years of WWI. Includes numerous soups (Poor Man's Soup, Celery Soup) , meat pies and loafs, cookies, pies, jams, etc. Quite obviously all adapted to lack of availability of items like sugar. ; 38 pages.
