Book First Edition
Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Pat Patterson (cover); interior art undredited (illustrator). First Edition. New York: Ronald L. Smith, 1955. First edition. November, 1955 / whole number 46/ issue number 12 under the name Inside and Science Fiction Advertiser (which is the last name for the famed sci-fi / fantasy fanzine, which was also published under the earlier names "Fantasy Advertiser" and "Science Fiction Advertiser", though the primary focus was always Science Fiction). Ron Smith became the Editor/Publisher with the November, 1954 issue, which was also the first under this name. Octavo, stapled illustrated wraps, 42 pp. Very Good plus to about near fine; two chips at bottom front cover, peripheral toning (see scans). s This November / 1955 issue was published as Ron Smith was continuing to improve the fanzine, which had been erratic in quality in prior years; 1956, yet to come, would be perhaps the best year. Though credited artwork is still sparse, there's plenty inside to enjoy; a rare short story - "Infiltration" by Carl Larsen - and articles, editorials, essays and reviews by editor Smith, William L. Freeman, Randall Garrett, Robert Silverberg, Lin Carter, Dave Mason, James Blish, George W. Price, Carl Larsen, Joe Schaumburger, R.S. Montague, S. Ostlund, Bob Tucker - all these pieces being, and having always been to this point, the meat of the fanzine under its several names. See scan of contents page. A rarity, for the collector. l-pr1.
