Condition: Fair. 1931. Second Impression. 921 pages. No dust jacket. Dark grey cloth covered boards. Pages are lightly tanned and foxed throughout, heavier to endpapers. Occasional thumb-marking present. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Cracking to front hinge with exposed binding, causing board to be slightly loose. Binding is shaky. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Mild tanning to spine and edges. Scuffing and light stained marking overall. Ring marking stain to front board. Book is slightly forward leaning.

He writes of the many terrible realities encountered.
