[British History] FINELY BOUND FIRST EDITION. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.[2] 250 [4]. With 10 colour plates by Ford, as well as various maps and drawings. Contemporary navy full calf by RELFE BROS for Langport Grammar School, with raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to spine, gilt roll-tooling to board edges, and school devices stamped in gilt to boards. All edges and endpapers marbled. Lacking plate facing p.134 'With Drake in the Tropics'. School prize plate to front pastedown for History, dated 1919. Spotting to first and final leaves, otherwise a clean copy. Toning and wear to spine. Very good.
