The illustrations are black and white photographs of the organizational board of the survey, the venues of the celebration banquets, (including the New National Museum, which is now the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History) and the tools used to conduct the survey. The Coastal Survey was conducted to assess the tides, the topography, and the geology of the Eastern Seaboard. A Very Good+ book with a few hints of wear to the boards.
