What I have written in this book is based on my conversations with and observations of Diego and his wife Frida Kahlo. as well as what I have concluded since then about that wonderful time in my life. My memory, although it is pretty good, may not be perfect, and some may disagree with bits of my analysis, but I want you to know that I have done my level best to 'give it to you straight', the way I believe Rivera would have wanted his work to be understood and appreciated."
