Hardcover. Condition: Very good-. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. M d Johnston (illustrator). First Edition. Pale brown boards with blue titles. Jacket is partially attached to boards from moisture. Would very probably steam off. The jacket has a large chunk missing from the head of the spine going around to the front panel with a smaller loss to the back panel at the bottom. Large chunk from the spine at the bottom is seperate and likewise moisture attached to the spine. There is moisture damage to the surface of the boards which appears superficial. 20% of the front free endpaper has been clipped off at the top. the book is well bound and the pages are clean and present well. Please ask questions for more details. This is the true 1st edition no * to half title which usually identifies the 1st reprint with Oxfords of this period. I note other 1938 editions which are reprints.
