Die drei Teile bieten Szenen aus dem Befreiungskampfe der Griechen gegen die Türken in den Jahren 1821-1829, schildern Reisen in Griechenland sowie Bildungsanstalten, Literatur und Dichtkunst des neuen Griechenlands. Die dekorativen Stiche zeigen antike Tempel und romantisch überhöhte Landschaften. Der Vorderdeckel innen mit Spuren eines entfernten Exlibris und der Buchblock mit alten Wasserrändern (davon das Frontispiz, das Titelblatt und die ersten 30 Seiten betroffen, während die kleineren Wasserränder gegen Textende die Tafeln nur am Rand außerhalb der Darstellung betreffen). Der Einband leicht fleckig, insgesamt handelt es sich jedoch trotz der Gebrauchsspuren um ein noch ordentliches, vollständiges Exemplar dieses schönen Beispiels für den deutschen Philhellenismus.
