Bernard James Farmer (1902-1964) was a British writer whose books included a series of police-focused crime fiction novels, mystery tales for children, and nonfiction works exploring his passion for book collecting. Following the Second World War, Farmer joined the Metropolitan Police and gained experience which lent authenticity to his detective stories. In 1950 he published The Gentle Art of Book Collecting, drawing on his knowledge and experience with collecting rare books. In 1956 he published a mystery novel, Death of a Bookseller, which combined his experiences of police work and rare books. From the dust jacket of The Gentle Art of Book Collecting: [Farmer] "provides much interesting information on such topics as Why an Author is Collected, How to Tell a First Edition, Cleaning and Caring for Books, Chapters on Incunabula, Old Bibles, and Rarities of the Future.".

Condition: new. Pages: 266 Language: Estonian. Esmakordselt 1956. aastal ilmunud krimiromaani tegevustik toimub Londoni vanaraamatute maailmas. Seersant Jack Wigan kohtub ringkäigul raamatumüüja Michael Fiskiga, kes on haruldast raamatuleidu tähistnud pisut liigse napsitamisega. Seersant Wigan saadab mehe turvaliselt koju. 9789916681633.
