The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some light bumping and rubbing. The front cover has rubbing to the lettering and decoration. The rear cover has several spots of ground-in dirt and spotting. The text pages are clean and bright. "John Thomson, born in 1912, designed and built 14 gliders and airplanes by the time he was 22, met his wife through "two" forced landings, was one of the first Civilian Pilot Training instructors in World War II, spent 37 years racing military and Formula One "midget" planes, and was a pilot for TWA for 32 years. He did all that before building his own airport, restoring and flying antique airplanes, and building an aircraft museum.".
