Hardcover with dustjacket, plain blue binding with bright gold title on spine, "Translated and edited from a Persian Manuscript.with many illustrations in the text and four coloured reproductions from Persian paintings," includes a folding plan of the Meshed Shrine, the author states that "my ambition has been to write a second Haji Baba, which would serve as a true picture of Persia some ten years ago, before constitutional reform appeared on the horizon, just as Morier in his immortal work depicted it in the reign of Fath Ali Shah," no major flaws to this copy, the cover has some very mild spotting near the top visible only when the book is held at an angle under light, the binding is tight and the contents are clean except for one minor flaw: the backs of the four color plates, which are blank, are mildly foxed along with the page of text that faces each, the scarce jacket is very well-preserved, it is slightly tanned on the spine and has moderate edge-wear at the corners and spine-tips, a professional (removable) mylar cover is included.
