Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Brown cloth. Large octavo. 410pp. Tan printed dust jacket with price on flap. James J. Fisk, Daniel Drew, and other well-known figures of the period move through these accounts by Charles Francis Adams, Henry Adams, and other contemporaries of the spectacular early financing of the Erie Railway. The sidelights on questions of the legal ethics involved reveal in illuminating fashion the changes that have been brought about in corporation methods since that time. A very good bright copy with minor wear. The endsheets are lightly tanned else the text is very good and clean. The jacket has some chipping to the spine tips and cover edges and some browning and spotting to the spine and rear panel.
