This text was directed toward upper-grade school students when it appeared in 1937. This edition has a dozen more pages, with two selections with attributions to the editor, while retaining the Glossary. The selections are from fiction, non-fiction, and folklore. [ See HERD 173]. Illustrated by Arizonan Creston F. Baumgartner. The first selection is about the Greasewood golf course, created by cowboys at Salome, AZ, a town founded by the author, Dick Wick Hall. but the directions in "yds." was blurred, and mis-read in "rds." or rods, resulting in a course over 20 miles in length !.
