Wann kann Schule biografisch fur den Schuler zum Problem werden und wann eroffnet sie ihm Moglichkeiten zur Entfaltung seines Selbst? Wie hangen Schullaufbahn Familien und Peers zusammen? Und wie kann sich das Verhaltnis von Schulkultur und Schulerbiographie verandern? Die Studie setzt sich unter diesen Fragestellungen mit den wenigen biographisch orientierten Schulerstudien der BRD auseinander und entwickelt einen hermeneutisch-rekonstruktiven Zugang zur Erschliessung dieses Zusammenhangs. Resultat ist der Entwurf eines Strukturmodells der "schulbiographischen Passung," das den Anspruch erhebt, grundlegende Wirkungszusammenhange abzubilden und schulische Verlaufe im Rahmen milieuspezifischer Differenzierung zu erklaren."
