Size effect in structures has been taken into consideration over the last years. In comparison with coatings with micrometer-ranged thickness, nanostructured coatings usually enjoy better and appropriate properties, such as strength and resistance. These coatings enjoy unique magnetic properties and are used with the aim of producing surfaces resistant against erosion, lubricant system, cutting tools, manufacturing hardened sporadic alloys, being resistant against oxidation and corrosion.

Mahmood Aliofkhazraei is a PhD researcher of corrosion and surface engineering group at the Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran, Iran. Having obtained his academic degrees from this university, he has focused most of his research on different aspects of plasma electrolysis. He has authored over 20 scientific publications on plasma electrolysis and has received numerous scientific awards, such as Khwarizmi award and he is the author of the best thesis in the field of nanotechnology in Iran. He is also a member of the national association of surface sciences, Iranian corrosion association and national elite foundation of Iran.
