Synopsis:
This title is suitable for children aged 9 to 11 years. Children of all ages will delight in the Wampetters-pudgy orange creatures who like nothing better than telling jokes, taking mudbaths, and eating. Eloise and Gartrude Tub are cheerfully playing in the mud when a sleek silver spaceship drops out of the red sky. The young Wampetters are enthralled by the elegant humans who emerge. So few humans come to this sleepy planet, far from the galactic mainstream, and the Smith family seems so friendly. The girls do not realise it, but they and their parents are about to embark on the greatest adventure of their lives. They must save planet Wampetter from a terrible fate: becoming the galaxy's first theme planet. While kids are laughing they are also learning. This amusing read-aloud book for families helps kids decide what is really important, and it helps them realize that kids can make a difference and that a family working together can accomplish great things.
