Synopsis:

Herbert is a lonely black cat who likes to spend his time in the public library. One day while browsing The Encyclopaedia of Witches, he reads that witches keep all kinds of pets - ravens, lizards, owls and bats - but what they love most are black cats. So Herbert decides that, being the black cat that he is, he needs a witch too, and he sets off to find one. But Herbert has never seen a real witch before, and he has a very difficult Time finding one. In fact, whenever he stops to ask someone, "Excuse me, are You a witch?", he quickly realises that he's very much mistaken! Just as poor lonely Herbert is about to give up looking for a witch-friend, he goes back to the public library where, as luck would have it, a class of witch-schoolgirls have come to check out books!
