Set initially in the present day, challenging American White House officialdom, unaware of the side effects of time travel, defying the raw brutality of nature, oblivious to the actuality of war, maverick UFO investigator Jack Mississippi goes back in time to bomb-blitzed London 1940 to prove his theory that a strange blip that appears on radar screens every Christmas Eve, is a sledge belonging to Father Christmas. The super powers of the world however are not convinced. They believe the blip is either a terrorist threat or some form of alien intelligence, and no matter what the consequences intend to identify it even if it mean global warfare.

About the Author:
August 1962. Having left college in Swansea (where I was born) armed with 2 'A' levels and 5 'O' levels, I embarked on a career in professional sport (football). But 5 years later, discarded by Leeds United, Southend and Swansea, I find myself on the scrapheap. But not to worry the nightlife beckons and the wages are good: I become a croupier... and life is grand. Cardiff, Bristol, Bournemouth and London beckons... but all does not go well. Five years later, the victim of a Bristolian scam, the Gaming Board revoke my licence bad news, I had graduated to Pit-Boss. But all is not lost: snooker cue in hand I travel all over the country relieving mugs of having to carry their money around with them... and it gets better. I team up with a couple of scam artists and we make a killing several in fact. The film, The Sting, could have been written just for us. But times change, they always do... and by 1980 I'm hanging around on street corners working as a Shamus... and it gets better. September 1986: I open my own investigation agency and with the stock market crash of 1987 you can't hire a Private Detective for love or money: finance houses, banks and insurance companies love me. August 1999: tired of roaming the streets I sell up and retire... but not for the good. Two years later I become bored and front a bordello in the Algarve for a friend... and for a while it's all sun, sand, wine and skimpy swimwear. But it doesn't last and I find myself back on the scrapheap. In the words of Alex Higgins (who said it before George Best), 'I spent all my money on whisky, gambling and women... and wasted the rest!' May 2002: I become a professional poker player and I still am... but making a living? Mmmmm just.
