Harris wants college writers to think of intellectual writing as an adaptive and social activity, and he offers them a clear set of strategies--a set of moves--for participating in it. The second edition introduces remixing as an additional signature move and is updated with new attention to digital writing, which both extends and rethinks the ideas of earlier chapters.

About the Author:

Joseph Harris is a professor of English at the University of Delaware, where he teaches composition, creative nonfiction, and digital writing. Previously, he directed the first-year writing programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Duke University. A former editor of CCC, he is also the author of Teaching with Student Texts and A Teaching Subject.
