About the Author:

Throughout his 30-year writing career, Alan Burton has been honored by such organizations as the Associated Press, Texas School Public Relations Association, and Oklahoma College Public Relations Association. A native of Sherman, Texas, Burton is the author of six books. He has 33 years of media/communications experience, and has served in various capacities in the field of educational public relations for the past 27 years. Burton is a 1979 graduate of Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. He currently serves as Special Assistant to the President/Director of University Communications at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was Director of Community Relations for the Sherman Independent School District from 1988-1999.
