Synopsis

A city filled with petty crime, a police force incapable of going beyond their parameters, and a man who sees everything there is to see with a single glance. This is the world Dr. John Walker found himself in after being dishonorably discharged from the army and relocating to the quaint city of Newfield, Oregon. The good doctor had done everything in his life that was advised of him: he graduated from college, spent some time in graduate school, and followed that with two years overseas. How fortunate was he to come into contact with the “consulting detective” of Newfield, a man by the name of Sheridan Hull. Working alongside the detective, Walker is given an opportunity to see more to a city than the daily ongoings of the average citizen. He learns to observe rather than see. But despite the first mysteries being rather commonplace, sinister souls reveal themselves in the darkness, working under an organization called Chimaera and following the orders of a cloaked man who goes by the moniker of Moriarty. With chaos looming and potential destruction on a colossal scale hanging on the horizon, it's left in the hands of the clever detective and the honorable doctor to keep the world turning.

About the Author:

James Phillips, or JT, born May 17th, 1993, in Springfield, Oregon, spent most of his childhood in Junction City, Oregon, until the start of his 7th grade year, when his family relocated to the even-smaller town of Monroe. He graduated from Monroe High School in 2011 and spent one year at Oregon State University with the intent of becoming a high school-level English teacher. After having left school, JT focused his work on his first official novel, titled, "Hull - Volume I." The volume is a collection of twenty-five detective stories following a detective named Sheridan Hull. JT completed the volume in October of 2012 and has since begun production of, "Hull - Volume II: The Posthumous Chronicles." JT intends to return to Oregon State University in the fall of 2013, now focusing his studies on Sociology, with a concentration in Crime & Justice.
