The Use of Exodus in Hebrews illustrates how traditions and hermeneutics have significantly determined people's valuations of the relationship between the Old and New Covenants in Hebrews. By showing how the author of Hebrews uses the canonical revelation from Exodus to argue rhetorically, ontologically, and hermeneutically that Jesus Christ is the New Covenant priest in the heavenly tabernacle, this book offers an epistemological lens from Exodus to identify the correct view of the relationship between the Old and New Covenants.

Review:
«It is a pleasure to commend King L. She's work, 'The Use of Exodus in Hebrews'. Dr. She pursued the study with fervor and learning, going well beyond the preparation inherent in his doctoral program to produce a work that is a significant contribution to the field of New Testament studies and to research on the Book of Hebrews. The breadth of his reading in the relevant literature and the care he exercised in both research and writing are reflected in the final product of his work. His emphasis on the functional and ontological contributions of Exodus 25:40 to the teaching in Hebrews on Christology is particularly welcome.» (James E. Allman, Th.D., Professor of Bible Exposition, Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas, Texas)
«Fully embracing the Protestant 'sola Scriptura' principle and recognizing the hermeneutical role ontological presuppositions play in Biblical exegesis, 'The Use of Exodus in Hebrews' opens a new methodological path in Evangelical Biblical scholarship. Using an interdisciplinary approach King L. She is able to show convincingly that a deep understanding of the Book of Hebrews must include the ontological dimension not by bringing into exegesis ideas from extra Biblical sources but by listening to the ontological views of the Biblical texts. Dr. She's key revolutionary insight consists in the realization that the author of Hebrews assumed the ontology derived from the Book of Exodus. Clearly written, cogently argued, well-illustrated, and conversant with epistemology, ontology, hermeneutics, systematic theology, and Biblical studies, 'The Use of Exodus in Hebrews' is destined to become a guiding methodological model for future research in Biblical studies.» (Fernando Canale, PhD, Professor of Theology and Philosophy, Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan)
About the Author:
King L. She earned his Th.M. and PhD degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. He is currently a lecturer of Biblical Studies at Melbourne School of Theology, Australia. His research interests are in the area of Greek exegesis, autopistic systematic theology and hermeneutics.
