Short introductions to the countries represented include religious and geographic information as well as cultural distinctions among the various ethnic groups. The finished projects are illustrated with brilliant, full-page, full-color photographs. Each craft has an explanation of its purpose or function, as well as a list of related curricular areas. Maps of the areas, patterns for some of the activities, and information about art mediums, including textiles, are included. Most projects can be made with everyday classroom materials, but some require a more involved selection of supplies such as Styrofoam trays and aluminum pans. An extremely useful book for students, teachers, and craft instructors.
