A cela, il faut ajouter l'habitude, pour tous sans exception, de quitter en se mariant la maison paternelle. En agissant autrement, ils croiraient presque contre venir à une loi divine, et aller à l'encontre de cette idée, fort enracinée chez eux, que chaque homme à son tour doit en se mariant posséder un Home (un foyer) dont il soit le chef. De tout cela, on le comprend, il résulte que la vie de famille, telle que nous la comprenons en France, où plusieurs jeunes ménages demeurent souvent ensemble, sous. Le toit de leurs parents, ne peut exister en Angleterre.
