Im Jahre 1903 erschien eine Schrift von Roy „israel und die Welt in Jesaja 40 Dieselbe suchte einen ganz neuen Ausgangspunkt für die Untersuchung in der verschiedenen De urteilung Israels und der Völker innerhalb der einzelnen Ah schnitte des Buches zu gewinnen und kam von da aus zu dem Resultate, daß in den Ebedjahwestücken der Knecht Gottes allerdings wie im sonstigen Buche das Volk sei, uber im ubrigen in ihnen ein wesentlich anderer Geist wehe, und daß deswegen diese Abschnitte erst in nachexilischer Zeit als Ergänzungen in jenes eingetragen seien.
