Cette fois 109 familles sont traithes, soit 131 familles en tout. Nous sommes loin du premier volume de Ross Arnett "The Beetles of the United States" publih en un seul volume en 1962. J'avais quant a moi l'hdition de 1968. Cet ouvrage comportait alors 1112 pages et htait imprimh en petit format. La qualith de la publication et des illustrations n'htait en rien comparable aux volumes actuels. Une belle production de CRC Press qui fait honneur a cette maison d'hdition. Une trks complhte bibliographie termine les chapitres .... Fhlicitons, les auteurs, les collaborateurs, et finalement les hditeurs d'avoir rhalish ce magnifique ouvrage. Ces deux volumes restent indispensables a qui veut Htudier la faune colHoptHrologique de l'Amhrique du Nord et du Nord du Mexique, en un mot la faune nharctique. Cette faune a des hlhments en commun avec l'Asie et surtout le Vieux monde, les connections ayant existh a diverses hpoques avec les continents voisins. La faune des Antilles, de l'Amhrique Centrale n'est pas loin non plus et ce livre peut servir de base a leur htude. Une mise a jour de cette qualith serait peut-jtre nhcessaire dans notre pays, coordinant les Faunes de France, qui hhlas sont loin d'avoir fait letour des Colhoptires.
