About the Author:

Harry Chapin: Harry was born in Manhattan, N.Y. in 1942. He grew up in Brooklyn amongst a family of writers and musicians and attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and Cornell University. Throughout his early adult years he performed music with his brothers, Tom and Steve and wrote and directed films, one of which, Legendary Champions, won an Oscar Nomination. By 1972, he was performing music full time while continuing to write articles, screenplays and poetry. His first book of poems, Looking... Seeing was published in 1975. Harry passed away in 1981.
