Fate appears, in popular conception at least, to be random, giving the individual no choice at all, but is seen as both irrevocable and yet, paradoxically, dependant upon human choices for its fruition, evolving from the vision of an orderly interconnected cosmos. In this work, the author confronts and questions the problem of fate, primarily through astrological language and analyses of the horoscopes with case histories of individuals whose lives seem to have been "touched" by fate.
