About the Author:
Paul Cook CEng FIEE was the Principal Engineer in the Technical Regulations department of the IEE. For many years, he was closely involved in the preparation of the IEE Wiring Regulations: BS7671 and related publications. He trained as an electricity distribution engineer, but for most of his career was in electrical contracting in various roles from design engineer to business manager. Jonathan Elliott is a Senior Engineer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology where he is involved with the preparation of the IEE Wiring Regulations: BS7671 and related guidance. He is an experienced lecturer on City & Guilds electrical courses and was an Operations Engineer with the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC).
