This book contains a wide range of essays which explore pacifism through its relations to modern ideologies and contemporary issues. The seven sections include chapters examining how pacifism relates to a wide variety of topical issues, from racism and feminism, to the environment and defense. Profiles of individual peacemakers such as Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Vera Britain are included as well as a section on different pacifist organizations.
