Assessment of Phonological Sensitivity, an easy-to-follow, useful tool for teachers of Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children as well as Pre-Kindergarten and older children with exceptionalities, offers research-based instructional activities and methods that will assist teachers in determining whether children can discriminate word sounds and individual sounds within words.

Phonological awareness instruction for 5-10 minutes per day has been recommended by the National Reading Panel for children with weak sound discrimination skills. Assessment of Phonological Sensitivity enables teachers to focus instruction for those few, but important, daily minutes of phonological awareness instruction.
