It's not bad going to write your autobiography aged only 23. But for David Beckham it is probably no big deal. So huge is the modern football business that he has been catapulted to a level of stardom undreamed of by the sporting greats of the past. Beckham has been fortunate to have been able to trade his status as a footballing prodigy for untold wealth. But in return he has also had to deal with the pressures of being a modern celebrity.

This well-illustrated book strikes a balance between the different parts of his life and in charting his rapid rise from athletic kid to millionaire superstar Beckham comes across as polite, ready to listen to advice, and loyal to the people who have helped him along the way. The book is packed with photos of him on the pitch as well as off it, (with plenty of coverage of him and "Posh" Spice Girl Victoria Addams of course), and contains all the facts and figures from his remarkable career so far.
