The Oxford Children's Encyclopaedia of Our World is an impressive and concise book that answers all those tricky homework questions parents dread. From a close-up on Africa to the unravelling of Wool, all the world and its concerns can be found between the pages of this glossy, ultra-informative book.
Articles in the encyclopaedia are arranged alphabetically, so topics are easy to locate and each subject is introduced in a simple paragraph. The reader is then cleverly led into the main text with detailed maps and colourful illustrations which compliment and enhance the carefully chosen words.
The pages are attractively and cleanly presented, with locator maps that place countries and continents on the globe, margin notes that provide fascinating snippets of information, panel points which lead the reader to other related articles, and footers that give shortcuts to topics which do not have their own complete category.
