Barbara Trapido was born and educated in South Africa and came to London in 1963. She now lives in Oxford with her family.
Her first novel, Brother of the More Famous Jack, was awarded a special prize for fiction at the Whitbread Awards in 1982. Her second, Noah's Ark, was published in 1985, and her third, Temples of Delight, was shortlisted for the Sunday Express Book of the Year Award in 1990. This, her fourth, is a sequel to Temples of Delight.
