Wayne Cascio's Managing Human Resources, 6/e, is perfect for the general management student whose job inevitably will involve responsibility for managing people. It explicitly links the relationship between productivity, quality of work life, and profits to various human resource management activities and, as such, strengthens the students' perception of human resource management as an important function, which affects individuals, organizations, and society. It is research-based and contains strong links to the applicability of this research to real business situations.

From the Publisher:
The impact of technology and the Internet are interlaced throughout many chapters, especially in the chapters on recruitment, staffing, and career development.
Chapter 2, The Financial Impact of Human Resource Management Activities, receives earlier and deeper treatment than in previous editions because of its importance to overall firm value
Key terms are highlighted throughout the text and listed at the end of each chapter in order to help students retain the material.
Due to the complexity of the material, Chapters 13 and 14 have been reorganized to distinguish more clearly between issues that are more dependent on a unionized work environment and those that are not specific to union or non-union work places.
The text Website includes URLs and links to companies mentioned throughout the book so that students can easily do further research on these companies.
Research-based, application-oriented Ethical Dilemma boxes will be retained to provide students with real world situations in HRM.
International coverage is both integrated throughout the chapters where appropriate and in a separate capstone chapter (16), which gives the students deeper insight into key international HRM issues.
