About the Author:
About Our Authors Lance Tominaga is the former editor of ALOHA Magazine, which for 21 years brought the best of Hawaii into homes and offices throughout the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world. In his ten years with the publication, he spent time on every major Hawaiian island and wrote features on everything from a charming little art community on the Big Island to Mister "Tiny Bubbles" himself, Don Ho. In the process, he gained an immeasurable appreciation for the beauty and uniqueness of the Islands' lands and cultures. At the same time, as a lifelong resident of the Islands (on the island of Oahu, to be exact), he knows full well the price of living in paradise and has always been forthright in passing on Hawaii travel–related advice. Betty Fullard–Leo wrote our dining chapter and has been sampling Hawaii restaurants ever since she arrived in the Islands in 1962. After graduating from the University of Hawaii's school of journalism in 1980, she worked as associate editor of Aloha Magazine and RSVP magazine for more than six years; she then edited Pacific Art & Travel magazine before turning to full–time freelance writing in 1990. She writes regularly about food for Hawaii Magazine and also contributes articles about Hawaii destinations, attractions, activities, restaurants, culture, and lifestyle to numerous publications, including Los Angeles Times, Westways AAA, and Spirit of Aloha magazine.
