Tony McAleavy is Humanities Inspector for Gloucestershire and is a well-respected author of textbooks for History at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.

The History 13-16 Project was formerly the Schools Council History Project. It was set up in 1972 to reconsider the objectives of History Teaching and to produce materials for a new course. This course has been running since 1974. It has been a popular choice at GCSE since the examinations began.
