An unusually Near-Fine copy of this colourful children's book (scarce in the UK), written and illustrated by the influencial Swiss artist and graphic designer, Alois Carigiet, and depicting stories about Maurusand old Stina's trio of goats in the Graubunden Mountains. Oblong quarto, unpaginated, with a printed signature (i.e. 'signed on the plate') on a preliminary page. This type of "signature" may be what is alluded to elsewhere. It may have been applied only in the Orell Fussli published versions? Illustrated front cover to hardback with red cloth spine. Difficult to establish publication year but likely to be 1974 or earlier. The 1965 First Edition won the 1966 "Swiss Youth Book" prize.
