This copy inscribed by Stoppard to the half-title To Neal/Tom Stoppard Set in London in the year the play was published (1982), The Real Thing is one of Stoppard s most popular works, and focuses on the relationship between an actress and a member of a group fighting to free Brodie (a Scottish soldier imprisoned for burning a memorial wreath during a protest).
