This is the story of English cameo glass, its bold inception, its teasing tribulations, and its determined capitalist bakcers and their imaginative craftsmen. It tells how they looked not at the cost but for the result. Particular feature of the book are the catalogue and illustrations. The book is bound in the original orange cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some light soiling and a few small stains on the boards. The spine ends are lightly bumped and the spine is faded. There is also light fading around the edges of the rear board and parts of the front board. The contents are tight and very clean and the half-title page has been flat signed "Geoffrey W. Beard".
