In this book, novelist John Fowles states that a large garden owns him, and that "All nature . . . Entrances me. The experience of it, the most important source of power in my life, like water to a mill . . . I cannot imagine life without it." He further proposes that Western science and philosophy have conditioned us to see the natural world as pieces, and the tendency to dismantle nature and attempt to control what is essentially whole, and perhaps spiritual, is the source of much human misery. So, a love story. Seller Inventory # 11474
