- Signed by the author to "John Bennett, hoping he will be able to get through this book, W Somerset Maugham" in blue ink to the ffep. Red boards with gold lettering to the spine. Spotting to the closed page edges and light foxing to the front and rear pages. Price clipped dust jacket with some minor chipping and wear toward the spine. Now in a new removable protective clear sleeve. No further inscriptions, 171pp. Clean and bright pages throughout. (Any digital image available on request). * John Bennett was an author and librarian. During his National Service with the Navy he was visiting a port in France. With his friend they decided to pay Somerset Maugham a visit and knocked the front door.
