Written on a sheet of blue tinted, textured note paper, with addresses printed in dark blue ink. Shows a central, horizontal fold, offsetting from the writing ink. Written to Cleveland, Ohio based book & autograph collector, Paul Lemperly. Contents: 3098 Kensington 70, Elm Park Road, Chelsea, S.W. March 19. 1920 Dear Mr. Lemperly, I was glad to hear from you again & to perceive that you are still engaged in the harmless pursuit of book hunting! The James novel of the 1st Ed. of P. O [?] was an old acquaintance of mine, long since disappeared from this [?] life. How he came to be possessed with a copy of Browning's letter to me. I cannot remember, but he personally took a copy of it from the original which is still in my possession. In the original the writing is much larger than in the fac-similie you enclose.
